A Big Wiki Welcome To You !

Kati Searcy, administrator of this wiki, is a student in Valdosta State University's Ed.S. program for Instructional Technology and is enrolled in additional courses to earn an online teaching endorsement.  She is excited to be graduating and completing the online endorsement in May of 2010.

She has been an educator for 24 years.  In addition to teaching children in an elementary gifted program, she leads professional learning opportunities for educators in the field of technology and new teacher induction.  She serves on the Fulton County School System's Technology Planning Committee.

Kati was born in Hollywood, California and was raised in Southern California.  She started playing the piano at the age of four.  She later went on to get a bachelor's degree in music from Florida State University and taught music in public schools for 14 years.  One of the most exciting things she did as a music teacher was to lead students in singing and dancing in the opening ceremonies of the 1996 Paralympics in Atlanta.  For the past ten years, Kati has taught talented and gifted students in grade K-5 and enjoys this tremendously.  In addition to teaching in the public school system, Kati also teaches 18 private piano students and is the organist at her church.  In her spare time, she does water aerobics, reads, plays online Scrabble, and catches up with friends and family on Facebook.  She occasionally sleeps.  Kati is a single parent of a wonderful 22-year old son.
